Stacy started singing professionally at the age 5 in Zweibruken Germany, opening for her mother’s Gospel Choir. They were doing an Army Showcase show and had Stacy sing two solo’s. After her first standing ovation she was bitten by the bug and there was no turning back. The Stacy Brooks Band was formed in February 2007, and Stacy was nominated for a WAMMIE Award in the “New Artist of the Year” category by The Washington Area Music Association that year. Fast Forward to 2012, in her short span on the blues circuit she has shared the stage with blues legends Grammy Award Winner Sugar Blue, Guitar Legend Bobby Parker, The Nighthawks, Grammy Nominated Billy Branch, Kenny Neal and Memphis Gold to name a few. Her highly anticipated debut Studio CD titled Love Peace & The Blues, was released in September 2011 and was just nominated for Best Blues Recording by the Washington Area Music Association. Stacy wrote 11 of the songs. Her single, “My name is Stacy” is currently in rotation at WPFW 89.3fm in Washington DC, WTMD 89.7fm in Baltimore, Md WPXN, 88.5fm in Philly, Pa & several internet Blues Stations worldwide. The CD features a duet with legendary Bluesman Kenny Neal and some other musicians you might recognize. As her blues mentors, Memphis Gold and Kenny Neal also serve as musicians and co-producers of the CD. Recently, she was nominated for a WAMMIE Award in the Blues Female Vocalist category 2009, 2010, 2011 and her Live @ The Surf Club CD was also nominated in the Blues Recording Category in 2009 by the Washington Area Music Association. On 9 July 2011 her band placed 1st in the Battle of the Bands at the Sedalia Blues Festival. They will now compete in Memphis, Tn at The International Blues Challenge in 2012.
