Rolando Fernandez
Rolando Fernandez is a native of Ciudad Victoria, Mexico. He began study of the trumpet at age 11 and has since studied with Dr. Benny Ferguson, Dr. John Bryant, Jonathan Swygert, and Kevin Lyons. Since then, Mr. Fernandez has appeared as a soloist throughout the Southeast and has performed with several professional ensembles like Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Enotah Brass, Church Street Brass, Georgia Brass Band, Douglas Cameron Orchestra, Bumpin’ the Mango, and has even worked with Joe Gransden and his Big Band. As a freelancer, Rolando steadily performs at churches throughout metro Atlanta, Macon, and other
parts of the state. Mr. Fernandez also holds an Artist in Residency at FPC Marietta where you can enjoy his playing there once at month, and he is currently assisting the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra. Rolando Fernandez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Trumpet Performance from Young Harris College and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance degree from the Mercer University Townsend School of Music. He currently lives in Canton, Georgia where he teaches a private studio and works as a clinician.
