Oliver Jordan
Oliver Jordan is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer from Miami, Florida. He attended the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he majored in Music Business/Management and Songwriting. Oliver started playing the guitar at the age of six, after being inspired by watching Led Zeppelin’s famous concert DVD, “The Song Remains the Same.” He was intrigued by the progressions and solos that Led Zeppelin’s guitarist, Jimmy Page, was able to improvise. He admired the “jams” that the band created. This motivated him to pick up a guitar and make it a serious practice. From an early age, Oliver performed in many theatrical productions around South Florida as part of several musical theater groups and schools. During his time in theater he began taking voice lessons and working to craft his stage presence. It was during this time that he broke free from his shyness and began admiring the stage. In South Miami Middle School, as part of the Jazz Band Program, he received the honor of being named Jazz Band Leader and received an award for “Best Jazz Solo” at a school competition in Atlanta, Georgia. Oliver went on to further craft his theatrical and musical skills at New World School of the Arts, an audition based Art High School and College in Miami, Florida.
Oliver soon discovered his ability to merge playing the guitar with singing, and began composing his own music and performing at local venues around South Florida. It was after this discovery that he attended Berklee’s Five-Week Summer Intensive Program, ultimately to be accepted into the school with a scholarship.
During his first summer off from college, Oliver moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he gained more experience performing around the local scene and began recording his first independently produced EP, “Ignite.” “Ignite” consists of three original compositions in which Oliver is the sole writer and performer, with the exception of the drums and some back up vocals, of the EP. Oliver is currently applying the knowledge he acquired at Berklee College of Music to further his songwriting career, while interning with the largest independent concert promotion company for the South American market, Move Concerts. He is also working to develop his professional team, consisting of a manager, agent, publication company and, ultimately, a record label.
