Mahria Zook

Mahria Zook is a film and stage actress, currently residing in Seattle, WA. After a lot of combine driving, lands-keeping, and movie ticket selling, she received her B.A. in New Media Communications from Oregon State University, and made her way even farther Northwest to a Seattle stage debut in Eugene O’Neill’s The Hairy Ape. She has since maintained a focus on Film and new works, some recent turns include Sundown at the Devil’s House by Eddie DeHais at Cafe Nordo, and the 2017 release of Feature Film Depth, along with the corresponding web-series SOMA by Don Thacker (Imagos Films) and Frictional Games.
Upcoming works will include Mahria as the antagonist witch, Hester, in the television pilot, Tabitha: Witch of the Order; The Norse Warrior, Calla, in the transmedia production, Chaldea, incorporating graphic novel, voice over and film; and The Pilot in
the one-woman show Grounded at Seattle Public Theatre, directed by Kelly Kitchens, March 2017. As an athlete (and class clown as a youngster), her training has naturally gravitated toward physical comedy, movement, biomechanics, and combat.
Her personal clown journey with George Lewis has been pivotal in her growth, and she continues training with Master Teacher Arne Zaslove, incorporating improvisation, clown, mask and Shakespeare. In her daily life, you can find her running up mountains, playing with her cats, camped-out in a movie theatre, and driving a little too fast. She is one half of the production team for Miz Mel’s Cabaret.
