Carlos Barba
Carlos Barba completed his music degree at the University of Texas at El Paso. He has been an active performer and educator in the El Paso, Las Cruces, and Ciudad Juarez areas for almost a decade. From recital halls to night clubs, Carlos has provided entertainment for a wide variety of audiences. Classical and jazz have been the main focuses of his studies, but he constantly plays other styles such as pop, rock, gospel, funk, country, latin, and electronic music. He is about to release his third full-length album. Carlos currently teaches piano, guitar, and music theory at El Paso Music Learning Corner, as well as privately. He has taught well over 200 students throughout the last 7 years and is devoted to spreading the beauty and power of music through teaching and performing, specially among young people. Carlos also accompanies ballet classes and is an active musician in the non-profit arts education organization Kids Excel El Paso. He has also had extensive experience as a church pianist. Carlos has studied or taken lessons from Dr. Chris Reyman, Dr. Oscar Machionni, Reggie Moore, Larry Ham, Bert Dalton, Sean Higgins, Dr. Christos Tsitsaros, Mack Goldsbury, Erik Unsworth, and Shaun Mahoney, among others. Carlos has also played with the UTEP Jazz Ensemble for four years and has shared the stage with renowned singers Karrin Allyson, Roseanna Vitro, and Jackie Ryan. Carlos currently teaches piano, guitar, and music theory at La Guitarra School of
Music, as well as privately. He has taught well over 100 students throughout the last 7 years and is devoted to spreading the beauty and power of music through teaching and performing, specially among young people. Carlos is also constantly composing and arranging and is scheduled to release a solo piano album of his original compositions by early 2016. Carlos currently studies with Dr. Chris Reyman and has formerly studied or taken lessons from Dr. Oscar Machionni, Reggie Moore, Larry Ham, Bert Dalton, Sean Higgins, Dr. Christos Tsitsaros, Eric Unsworth, and Shaun Mahoney, among others. Carlos has also played with the UTEP Jazz Ensemble for four years and has shared the stage with renowned singers Karrin Allyson, Roseanna Vitro, and Jackie Ryan.
