A professional stylist and makeup artist for over 6 years, Avis Saunders has worked in the salon, bridal, and film entertainment worlds. After receiving her initial training at Douglas J Aveda Institute in 2010, Avis has continued her passion of educational growth in the beauty industry with over twenty specialized classes through Aveda’s continual training program as well working with American Crew, KMS, Brazilian Blowout, TiGi and Arrojio and several others. Avis is a freelance stylist and makeup artist in the Metro Detroit area. Her hair
experience ranges from advanced cutting techniques, to color, texture and styling. On the makeup side, Avis is well versed in techniques for beauty, film and print – with a focus on bridal and special effects makeup. She has also trained with internationally known Makeup Artist, Andrea O’Donnell. As a Makeup Supervisor, Avis has worked on over a dozen film projects; including commercials for HAP, BLT Apparel, Town Pump Tavern and Hiller’s Market; music videos for Kaleido, Motor Honey, Paulina Jayne, Ty Stone and the award winning Detroit band, The Infatuations; and on the films Go North, Elder Island and Hindsight.
