Annabelle Decamillis
A child of professional artists, Annabelle has been making art of all kinds since she was a toddl?e?r. Her artwork has? gathe?red top awards at the Alabama state level and the national level such as the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2012 and 2013. Her winning paintings for both years were chosen to be exhibited at the U.S. Department of Educ?ation for ?two years. She was also a 2013 YoungArts finalist and scholarship recipient. Her work has been exhibited in shows nationwide including the Miami Museum of Art and the Kennedy Center in NY. Annabelle has completed professional commissions, such as a large mural for the Birmingham Zoo and 12 large pastel paintings for Creekside Tavern restaurant. She has also
done several portrait and wedding commissions. While she began her journey in fine art, Annabelle has now moved to practical applications in theater, including costume making and prop building/painting. In 2016, she worked as a stitcher and first hand for the UAB costume shop where she built dresses and corsets from scratch. In 2017, she painted props for the Santa Fe Opera and worked on props run crew.
