I am based in Akron, Ohio and perform as an acoustic or electric solo or duo act, with The Mike Lenz Band (3 piece electric blues), with Highway 61 (4 piece harmonica driven boogie blues), and with The Mostly Blues Band and as a session musician and as a sideman with other fine NE Ohio acts.
Private lessons for guitar, harmonica, slide guitar, voice, mandolin, banjo, electric bass, improvisation and music theory.

any song in seconds and lots of good and not so good advice available that it can be overwhelming. I can help you sort through it all to find the useful stuff and help you instill good practice habits.
I’ve been teaching and playing professionally for over 30 years. Lessons are tailored to the individual student to meet any musical goal, be it traditional sightreading or playing by ear or a combination. I specialize in acoustic and electric fingerstyle blues and roots music but have worked in many styles and settings including rock, jazz, bluegrass, folk, country, classical, standards and more. I teach through The Fairlawn School of Music and my home studio in Akron, OH, I will even travel to your home or workplace or teach through Skype.
