Callie Luhrman
Callie Luhrman is an artist based in San Antonio, Texas. For eight years of her childhood, Luhrman lived in Germany and spent many days traveling to cities in Europe. Her love of exploration and spending time in nature only grew, becoming her driving inspiration in art.
In 2014, Luhrman graduated with her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a specialty in ceramics. Nature and storytelling are often incorporated into her artwork through rich colors, texture and drawings on clay.
Luhrman recently exhibited her artwork at Anarte Gallery, featuring ten emerging female artists. In January 2017, she was pleased to have a host her first solo show at the Southwest School of Art in downtown San Antonio. Titled Ode to the Wierd and Wonderful, this body of work explored hand-drawn imagery on lovingly hand-built pieces.
