Ayla Davis

Ayla DavisI’m Ayla Davis and I specialize in Hair Design and Make-up. I’m Suite #27 at Sola Salons Willow Glen in San Jose, California. I have been providing professional hair and make-up services for over a decade. From an early age I have had a strong passion for the beauty industry. I would always go with my Mom to the hair salon. I love the smell of hairspray and perm solution in the air. I was fascinated and jealous of the amazing talent of the hairstylists. At 12 years old I was beginning to play around with my own hair and make-up. My Mom was always supportive of my interest in changing my look and in my junior year of high school I decided to study Cosmetology as a profession. I knew that I wanted a visually creative, active and social career. In 2004, I began Cosmetology school at Monterey Beauty Academy in Santa Clara, while still attending Santa Clara High School. I proudly graduated from high school and Cosmetology school within the same year. Shortly after high school I began working at a local salon in Santa Clara as a receptionist. That is where my real education began. I worked at Sanctuary Salon for 8 years. I quickly moved from receptionist, to a hairstylist’s assistant, to a master stylist. The foundation for everything I have learned in the beauty industry I owe to Sandy, Sanctuary Salon and her team. In addition to make-up and hairstyling I was responsible for the social media marketing for Sanctuary Salon. I learned all sides of business, such as how to work as a team, provide relaxing services, and the techniques and tools necessary to be a Hair Designer and Make-Up Artist. I am trained at advanced levels from Redken and Pureology. In 2009 and 2016, I attended the Redken Exchange, a premiere training interactive in New York City. I am Redken Haircolor Certified. I am also a certified Pureologist, Colorescience Make-Up Artist and have been expertly trained in the Simply Smooth Keratin Treatment and HotHeads Hair Extensions. I have taken classes from such industry leaders as Sam Villa, Kris Sorbi, and Kevin Murphy. I will continually educate myself. In this high-tech Silicon Valley I want to stay up to date with the latest in technology and trends, such as attending regular classes and conventions to discover the newest ground-breaking services and products. I also keep a strong social media presence to stay connected with my clients and the industry. I always have my eye on magazines, celebrities and the internet. I have been able to use websites like Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook to stay up to date on the latest trends, styles and fashions. My objective is to provide my clients relaxing hair and make-up services in a Shubhpujapeaceful and clean environment. I create a complete look through cutting, coloring, styling, extensions and make-up. I want to enhance the beauty in everyone and to make them look and feel their best. I want to be the best hairstylist that I can be. Better than yesterday. I believe there is always room to grow and improve myself, my work and my business. As of September 2013 I am the owner of my own business Ayla Davis at Sola Salons Willow Glen. I am so excited for this step in my career. I’m looking forward to growing my business and sharing my love for hair and make-up for many more years! Ayla Davis was born in the San Francisco Bay Area in April of 1987. She is an only child.
