Andrea Serrano
Andrea Serrano’s fashion career began in the early 90’s in Miami where she began an internship at MTV Latino in the Wardrobe Department. Soon enough, she became the main assistant to stylist, Danny Santiago. She assisted Danny on various photo shoots for Ocean Drive Magazine, countless catalogs, and advertising shoots. Eventually Andrea Serrano made the move to New York City to pursue her career further. Her strong desire to work with one of the top fashion magazines landed her an internship at Harper’s Bazaar in the photo department. At the time legendary editor-in-chief Liz Tilberis was at the helm and fashion visionary Fabien Baron was the creative director. From there she had the opportunity to assist leading stylists in the industry, working on major ad campaigns for Victoria’s Secret, Gap, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Mossimo, Levi’s; Magazine editorials for Details, Vibe, Rolling Stone, Premiere, Paper; celebrity clients such as Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Janet Jackson, Cindy Crawford, Christy Brinkley, Claudia Schiffer, The Rock, and the cast of Sex and the City; prominent fashion photographers and directors such as Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh, Terry Richardson, and Spike Lee. Gradually, Andrea Serrano developed her own clientele including Maybelline, L’oreal, Nautica, Getty Images, Playboy, Sony, Elektra, and J Records just to name a few. Andrea also became the in-house stylist for Dennis Publishing; working on editorial spreads for Maxim, Stuff, and Blender Magazines. It enabled her to work with top booking models such as Ines Rivero, actresses like Sienna Miller, and musical artists such as Ludacris. After 8 wonderful years in New York, Andrea Serrano and her husband Gustavo decided to move to Charleston, SC and settle down. They dabbled in retail, opening the 1st streetwear boutique, B’zar and the 1st sneaker boutique, Suite Sole in South Carolina. Eventually Andrea moved on to become the Costume Shopper for Army Wives Season’s 4 & 5. Andrea Serrano now continues as a freelance Wardrobe Stylist and occasional Prop Stylist and Producer on fashion and commercial productions. She also launched her style blog Charleston Shop Curator in March 2013, which focuses on local designers and boutiques. Andrea Serrano is based in Charleston, SC with her husband Gustavo, sons Mateo and Sebastian, and two dachshunds Roxy and Pepper.
