Amanda Santo
New England-based soprano, Amanda Santo, is a versatile soloist, recitalist and ensemble performer. She has sung with The Warwick Symphony Orchestra, The West Bay Chorale, the University of Connecticut Festival Chorus and Symphony Orchestra, Opera Providence, Rhode Island Opera Theater, Hartford Opera Theater, Connecticut Concert Opera, and Salt Marsh Opera. Recent concert appearances include the Vaughan Williams Hodie, Schubert’s Magnificat, the Rutter Requiem, Haydn’s Creation, and Handel’s Messiah. On the operatic stage, she has recently performed the roles of Ms. Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Gianetta in The Gondoliers, and Yum Yum in The Mikado. A three-time RINATS Song Festival finalist, she was invited to perform at their 20th Anniversary Gala in Newport, RI in and attended the V.O.I.C.Experience Program with legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes and soprano Maria Spacagna. Most notably, she has performed at
the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, Ireland, under the instruction of Bernadette Greevy at the Anna Livia International Opera Festival. A graduate of Rhode Island College, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Music Education and was honored as an Outstanding Music Graduate of her class. She holds a Performers Certificate from the University of Connecticut, and a Masters Degree from the Hartt School of Music, both in Vocal Performance. In addition, she has completed coursework at Westminster Choir College. She is a member of the board for the Rhode Island Chapters of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and has served on the faculties of the Community College of Rhode Island and the Music School of The Rhode Island Philharmonic.
