Amanda Hodges Weir
Amanda Hodges Weir Photography is a New Orleans and Mandeville baby and family photographer serving the Greater New Orleans area, Mandeville, Covington and Baton Rouge, LA. Amanda specializes in family photography. Photography is in Amanda’s blood. It all began with her grandfather when he served as a photographer during WWII in the South Pacific. When the war ended, he turned to photography to support his family by becoming the track photographer at the New Orleans Fair Grounds. Amanda’s father followed him into the business. As you can see, this has become quite the family tradition. Both her father and grandfather not only understood lighting and exposure, they saw art in the nitty gritty of thoroughbred horse racing.
Amanda always found their work inspiring. She carries their knowledge of photography and has built onto that foundation with her own unique style. She loves capturing families in their daily lives, interacting with one another whether it is taking a swim in the neighborhood pool, or baking cookies with Mom. These are the memories that should be printed and cherished because children won’t stay little forever. Weddings are a special occasion when family come together to celebrate. Love can be seen in the small gestures- a dad straightening his son’s tie before he heads into the church, the flower girl dancing with the bride on the dance floor. Amanda takes a photojournalistic approach to the day to tell a complete story of when two becomes one.
