The Ville BandThe Ville is one of the freshest live bands on the music scene. Their music is exciting, enticing and leaves you wanting more. They are a party in a box. They cover all of the best music from the 90’s forward including hip hop, pop, rock and country. Their originals are fresh and clever in lyrics and delivery.
Their musician skills are outstanding and they never leave their crowd wondering what is happening because they are entertainers and the crowd is a part of their journey each night.They are young, hip and pleasing to the eyes and ears. They all have extensive resumes in their music careers with experiences with other acts and when they came together one night to jam they realized that it was the first night of many for the band. You never know what you are going to get but one thing is for sure you will always have a great time and you will never forget The Ville!
Josh Cottrell- Lead Singer
Josh Cottrell is a 25 year old singer/songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee, and has been pursuing a career in music since 2014. Currently, he is working on his second full-length album Every High, Every Low, to release later this year; and his first album and EP are available on most major digital media platforms (iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, etc.). He joined as The Ville Band’s frontman late in August 2017, and hopes to continue both musical endeavors with full force. The he is primarily an acoustic performer, Josh will be playing electric guitar (second to the band’s Kevin Moore) as well as a bit of keys/piano. James Gilley- Drums/Vocals
James Gilley has playing and performing since he was 7 years of age (fifth grade) when he played in front of 500 people on piano, then soon after he switched to the drum set 17 years. Now, James, has nationally toured and is currently; band manager, booking agent, drummer, semi-producer and owner of The Alamo Recording Studio, and senior at Maryville College business management program graduating in 2017. This past year (2016) he played at CMA Fest, Meadowlark Festival (hosted by WDVX 89.9), Waynestock Festival, live on air with 102.9, 89.9, 90.3, 94.3 and various other major events Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas in 2016. Nate Wiles- Keyboard/Vocals
In his near 10 years of music experience it has been a pleasure being the bass to this particularly phenomenal group of musicians. From his roots of bluegrass in the time Nate spent at the Museum of Appalachia learning to pick a guitar, through his advanced theory and technical music training in school this group has been by far the most talented he’s worked with. Nate is a multi-styled musician who has an open interpretation of sound and a desire to achieve.
Kevin Moore- Lead and Rhythm
Kevin started guitar lessons in elementary school and continued his formal education in music and guitar performance throughout college. With influences that range from Jimi Hendrix to Guthrie Govan and everything in between, his playing and song-writing is eclectic and always centered around bringing the joy and excitement of playing to the audience. Kevin also plays bass guitar and drums, and he is interested in the overall production of his and others music. Although playing in multiple bands at any given time, Kevin is currently focused on The Ville Bands new release coming Winter 2017/2018.
Cody Stiner – Bass
Cody Stiner first began as a bassist in the Sharon Baptist Church worship band at the age of 15. In the 10 years since, he has been a part of various metal, alt rock, and pop projects. He attributes a diverse mixture of bands like Foo Fighters, Tame Impala, Two Door Cinema Club, as well as classics like Elton John and Chicago to his bass playing style. Cody says that, it’s great to be working with such a talented group of musicians who are each bringing their influences to the table and making something special and unique. He is very excited for the opportunity to create something great with the ville band.
