Ranjini Venkatachari
Ranjini is a fine artist working primarily in the medium of colored pencil. She has been working with this medium for more than 12 years and draws inspiration from her rich cultural heritage. She works out of her home studio in San Ramon, California. She also teaches colored pencil classes locally and all across the US. Her colored pencil art has been juried into several National and International shows across the US & UK, like the Salmagundi Annual non-member exhibition, Leading masters of Contemporary Realism (International guild of Realism), California State Fair, Women Painters of Washington and Colored Pencil Society of America’s International shows and UK color pencil society International show. Ranjini’s works has also been published in the Strokes of Genius 4&5, American Artist, International Artist, American 
Art Collector, Southwest arts magazine, Ann Kullberg’s COLOR Magazine & Art Guide Northwest. Ranjini is a five year merit signature and a Lifetime member the Colored Pencil Society of America. Ranjini is the brand ambassador and featured artist for Koh-I-Noor USA colored pencils.
She also runs her own school in San Ramon where she enjoys educating the young minds with various art forms. Inspired by the finer nuances of simple everyday subjects, she embodies her work with a variety of moods by using expressive color and dramatic lighting.
Although she prefers to work in a realistic style, she likes her art to be a passionate interpretation, rather than a replication of what she 
sees. Light, Color and design excites her and she tries to demonstrate how life extends beyond the subject limitations. Although she works on a variety of subject matter, she enjoys working on Still-life genre the most using Origami models and reflective surfaces. Colored pencil is always her medium of choice but she constantly explores other mediums and combine them with colored pencil to keep things interesting.
Her unique method of combining colored pencils with water soluble wax crayons on sanded surface allows her to create vivid, realistic drawings in a fraction of time compared to traditional colored pencil drawings.
