Oscar Unamuno
Chef Oscar Unamuno was born in Venezuela some 29 years ago. Growing up, food was always an essential part of his life and since an early age he has been an avid cook. Around 2009, he took a trip to Europe and without knowing it at the time, this would become the starting point of his time working in kitchens and restaurants. Just a few months after visiting France he decided to enroll in a Culinary Academy in Paris and pursue a degree in Culinary Arts. After several years of top quality training in French cuisine with great Chefs such as Guy Savoy in Paris, Philippe Delacourcelle, and Armand Arnal in the south of France at La Chassagnette, Chef Oscar decides to move back to the United States in order to open Gusto Restaurant. His cuisine is one of desire, freshness and instinct always looking for strong flavors and subtle pairings. He particularly enjoys combining all of his travels into his creations and is always eager to try new ingredients and products.
