Molly Taggart Cunningham
Molly Taggart Cunningham has loved theatre and film since she was a child. One of the first films that she remembers loving was The Wizard of Oz. She spent an entire day making her own pair of ruby slippers and then trailed red sequins through the house as she pranced around, clicking her heels. Her parents knew from a young age that she longed for a life on the stage or in front of the camera. She decided in her senior year of high school that she really wants to pursue a career in the performing arts. She went on to study vocal performance and theatre at Michigan State University. She completed the Theatre in London program in London, England in the summer of 2005 and graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in theatre in 2007. Following graduation Molly moved to the metro Detroit area and performed in several productions across the state. She also made appearances in films, such as WHIP IT, directed by Drew Barrymore. Some of her favorite roles include: Sandy in GREASE, Shelby in STEEL MAGNOLIAS, Denise in THE PROBLEM CHILD, and Celia in MUGSY SENT ME. She worked with The Encore Musical Theatre Company in Dexter, MI. At Encore she worked with Broadway veterans and assistant directed THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE with director & Broadway actor, Dan Cooney. Molly continues to pursue acting and singing, traveling as far as Chicago, IL and Toronto, Canada to attend auditions. She performed with Northville-based band, Soniq Cell, as a singer for 4 years. She loves spending time with friends and family and believes that since you only have one chance at life, you should make the most of it and never give up on your dreams! As Molly’s mom always said, “Keep Calm and Carry On”.
