Mikhail Berestnev
Mikhail Berestnev has performed internationally at the Grand Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall, Concert Hall of the International Music House in Moscow, Grand Concert Hall of Russian Academy of Music named by Gnessins, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Sydney Opera House, Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro, Flagey Theatre in Brussels, Palau de la Musica Recital Hall in Barcelona. As the soloist he appeared with Fort Worth, San Angelo, Sydney and Brazilian Symphony Orchestras, Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, Yaroslval, Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh and Tchelyabinsk Philharmonic Orchestras in Russia.His is the Gold Medalist of the Fifth International Delphic Games in Minsk, Belarus 2008; Second Prize Winner of the Second International Stanislav Neuhaus Piano Competition in Russia 2010; Fourth prize at the 58th Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona; Fourth Prize Winner and best performer of a Russian Composer at the 10th Sydney International Competition of Australia 2012; Second Prize Winner and best performer of Brazilian Composer Almeida Prado at the 3rd BNDES International Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro 2012; Grand Prix at the 53d Sorantin International Competition in San Angelo, USA 2012; Semifinalist at the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in Brussels 2013; Third prize winner of the National American MTNA Competition in New York 2012. In 2012 he received the Judith Solomon Piano Award in Chamber Music from Texas Christian University. He collaborated in chamber music with “Seraphim Trio” (Melbourne, Australia), San Paulo City String Quartet, Odysseus Chamber Players (USA) as well as various musicians from “Moscow Virtuosi” Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble “Musica Viva”, Bolshoi Theatre, “Russian Philharmonic” Orchestra. Violinists Curt Thompson, Matt Albert, cellist Fedor Amosov, French Horn David Cooper.
Mikhail graduated from Gnessins College and Russian Academy of Music studying with Professors Andrei Khitruk, Alexei Skavronsky and Vladimir Tropp.
In 2011 he moved to United States studying at Texas Christian University School of Music with Dr. Tamas Ungar in Fort Worth.
Now he is continuing his studies in US with Professor Joaquin Achucarro at Southern Methodist University in Dallas from 2016. In 2015 he recorded his first solo CD “Live around the World” on Tune City Records, US. His performances have been broadcast on WQXP Radio (New York) , ABC Classic FM (Australia), Radio France and WRR Classic 101.
