Jillian Storey
Jillian Storey recently returned from Kent, England, where she was a second-time member of Trevor Wye’s Flute Studio. She is also a graduate of Baylor University where she completed her Masters in Music Performance in 2016, studying with with Dr. Francesca Arnone. While at Baylor she was a member of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, and subbed with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. Jillian is an active teacher, teaching privately in the Houston, TX area. While at Baylor she was also involved in teaching and coaching student chamber groups and in the summer of 2016 taught music reading to communities in Malaysia. An avid chamber musician, Jillian is the flutist of Coloratura Winds, the Alternate of MTNA’s Southeast Chamber Division in 2016. She was also a finalist in the Baylor Concerto Competition in 2016, a winner of the Marcel Moyse Society’s 2015 Essay Contest subsequently playing for Paula Robison at the 2015 NFA Convention, and has twice been invited to the live rounds of the Young Texas Music Artist’s Competition. Former teachers include JoAnn McIntosh, Roger Martin, Francesca Arnone, and Trevor Wye. She has three adorable cats and when not playing the flute Jillian enjoys reading, hiking, baking, and drinking coffee.
