Bre Thurston
Bre Thurston is an extrovert who started life as an extremely shy child. She is an impulsive yet level-headed. She loves to dance. Shopping makes her happy, even if it’s just for groceries. She loves the smell of boat exhaust, sunscreen, and barbecues. She doesn’t take herself too seriously. She is self-taught. Bre Thurston owns more clothes than fit in her closet. She has been known to drink wine from a sippy cup in an adult onesie with her friends. Bre Thurston was a cheerleader in high school. She loves Starbucks dates with her friends and clients. She adores travel and recently spent almost a full month exploring Europe. She is adventurous. She talks and laughs too loud when she is nervous or excited.
Bre Thurston is an award winning photographer, educator, speaker, and author. She began her professional photography journey in 2010 after working five years in publishing. She was able to use her skills from the business world to create a business and a brand that she is extremely proud of. In 2014 she published her first book, For the Love of Weddings: A Photographers Guide to Starting a Wedding Photography Business. That same year she also began her speaking journey as a Platform Speaker at the Click Away Conference. She quickly realized that she had as much of a passion for teaching as she did shooting and has since taught at several successful conferences and events as well as online workshops. She is sponsored by Miller’s Professional Imaging, the industry’s leading print lab. 2015 brought along a new endeavor, Blair and Thurston Retreats which she co-founded with Elena S Blair.
They have completed three sold-out retreats in Malibu, Seattle, and Austin with two more sold out in Napa Valley and one in Portland, Maine in 2018.
Her work has been featured in Vogue Brasil, Cosmopolitan, Professional Photographer Magazine, Click Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Bride Magazine, Dear Photographer Magazine, and several online blogs/platforms including The Huffington Post, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, and Grey Likes Weddings. Her clients have ranged from Olympians and fitness sensations to Forbes 30 under 30 honorees and tech start-up founders.
