Travis Rourk
Travis Rourk is a freelance low brass performer and music educator in the greater Albuquerque, NM area. He attended the University of New Mexico, where he studied euphonium with Richard White, tuba, trombone with Debra Taylor, trombone, and music education. Originally from Corpus Christi, TX, Travis moved to Albuquerque and began taking part in the rich music culture of the area. As a trombone and euphonium professional he has performed with ensembles such as the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra, the Harvey Philips Chapter of ITEA Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, Banda Atomica and the Big Sol Band.
As a music educator and clinician, Travis supports many band programs throughout the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area. He is a Lead Teaching Artist at the Young Musician Initiative, where he instructs brass, and conducts the orchestra. Travis also operates his own private studio of trombone, euphonium, and tuba students. In addition to low brass, Travis is a tenor vocalist with the Choir of the Cathedral of St. John and an active alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
