On Tuesday, February 16, 2010 “Shelby Dressel” was the No. 7-ranked search on and the top search among all “American Idol” names. Google Trends listed her hotness as “volcanic” and her Website got more than 10,000 hits in less than 24 hours.
Shelby Kathleen Dressel is the daughter of Gary and Kathy Dressel, from Avon Park, FL. She is one of twelve children in this blended family of musicians, with inherited musical talent from both sides. Her dad and older brother both sing and play guitar, while another brother has a band and performs on the coast of Florida.
Shelby’s music, evidenced in both her own songs and the songs she covers, echoes the influences and essence of country music legends and traditions yet distinct and different in a sound and style that is uniquely her own.
