Mimi Von Schack
Mimi von Schack is a comedian, performer and writer in Los Angeles, California. She has a musical theater background, so she is really good at handling criticism and doing her own stage makeup. Some of her favorite roles were as Susan in [title of show] and Rizzo in Grease, though her family only seems to remember when she was 12 and played the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz.
While at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, Mimi sang Top 40 hits as jazzy piano ballads in a comedy cabaret show for three years. She was in the St Andrews Revue, a sketch comedy troupe that went to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. She founded Late Night Pillow Fight, an all-female sketch/improv show benefitting Target Ovarian Cancer UK. She has performed stand up in NYC, LA and London, and she was also a radio host of a comedy show for four years.
Kristen and Mimi Need An Agent, a show she produced, co-wrote and co-starred in debuted at Oh My Ribs! in Hollywood in January 2016 and was a showcase selection in the 2016 LA Scripted Comedy Festival. A comedy short she directed, filmed and edited, My Big Thumbs, was also a part of the festival.
Her one-woman character comedy cabaret, Julianne: Live from LA! premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2016 and won an Encore! Producers Award.
She briefly uses her MA History of Art and Film degree and makes video projects documenting the Los Angeles modern and contemporary art scene that screen at exhibits around the country.
She began at the Groundlings Theater in February 2015 and she is currently on their performance track, waiting to join the Advanced Writer’s Lab and performing in improv shows regularly. She currently produces and hosts a monthly show, The Variety Hour, at the Open Space on Fairfax!
