Melina Smart
Melina Smart is originally from Northeast Pennsylvania. She had an interest in music at an early age, starting with voice and piano lessons at the age of five. In 8th Grade, the theater bug bit her when she was cast as a lead in her school’s musical “Rats: The Story of the Pied Piper”.
Melina was hooked ever since and determined to turn her passion into a life long career. She is now a lyric soprano trained in both classical and musical theater styles of voice. She holds a BA in Theater from SUNY Binghamton in New York and has had the opportunity to study in New York City from many of Broadway´s finest performers and directors such as Bradley Dean, Michael Rafter, Kathleen Marshall, and Seth Rudetsky. After graduating from SUNY Binghamton, Melina moved to Orlando Florida to start her acting career. She has worked for several entertainment venues and productions companies including the Nickelodeon Suites Resort, Osceola Arts, Odd-o-T’s Entertainment, Universal Studios, Legoland Florida, Orlando Fringe, Actors with a Clue, Capone’s Dinner & Show, and Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. Even with an extensive theater background, Melina hopes to pursue more Film and TV opportunities in the future.
She has booked several lead and supporting roles in short film projects in Central Florida, some of which are slated for future festival runs. When not on camera or on a stage, Melina keeps busy in other way. She works as a brand ambassador/promotional model for trade shows and events. She also is a highly skilled costumer with experience in regional theater shops and Walt Disney World Creative Costuming. Melina can also be booked as princess performer for children’s parties.
