Marco Ippaso

Marco IppasoMarco is Italian born, initially British trained at WQEII College prior to attending Leicester Polytechnic and Graduating from The Art Center College of Design in sunny Pasadena, California. From a very young age he has had a pencil or paintbrush in hand. When ten his work was hung in The National Gallery in London, thanks to being the winning entrant in a national art competition. Since then the ‘Art’ bug has never faltered. He has been involved with art or design, in one way or another, his whole life. His love for Art and Design is unbridled. Product, Automotive design, Graphics, Art and Illustration. They all go together like a hand in glove. Even in corporate life Marco has always tenaciously been able to remain involved.
After working in England and Italy for many years, his wife Cindi and girls; Cassie, Michaela and Gabby, dog Murphy and cat Alfie, have finally been able to make a home and studio in beautiful Northern California, not far from Sacramento. With Tahoe, Napa, San Francisco, car shows everywhere and the Ocean all within easy driving distance, he is never at a loss for painting subject matter. Knowing this explains a great deal with regards to his painting choices. The majority of his work is commissioned with collectors sending him photos of their desired subject matter as the basis from which to produce the painting. From classic cars, boats, houses, landscapes to racing, portraits and animals. The variety is inspirational.
His art resides in many countries, from Australia to China, from Europe to of course the USA. He is blessed to be a galleried artist with his work on permanent display in Placerville, California at the Gold Country Artist’s Gallery. He enjoys painting in a loose ‘photo illustrative’ style in mixed media, but have utilized many styles and used most everything including oils and acrylics. His love for the mechanical has helped him develop his automotive art skills.
The sense of speed, the atmosphere, the weather, the reflections, the aura. All challenging to capture but always fun and incredibly rewarding if done properly. He only wishes he could paint the smells and sound. He also very much enjoys the freedom, variety and freshness of painting landscapes. The variety of color, lighting, the way the shadows are cast, the unbridled beauty and majesty of mother nature. All of his work is ‘traditional’ and hand rendered. No Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or digital manipulation.
