Heide Hille
Heide Hille, born in Colorado and raised in Arizona, began violin at age 11 and holds a Masters of Music Performance and Pedagogy from ASU School of Music. She studied in New York and Minneapolis, performed in many symphonies, and stage orchestras for renowned artists such as Marc Anthony, Michael W. Smith, Josh Groban and jazz violinist Regina Carter. Heide entered the Celtic Music scene on St. Patrick’s Day in 2009 which led to performances with The Brazen Heads, Karl Jones, Keltic Cowboys and a chance appearance with Blaggards. Heide was one of the original members of Sea Merchants, an Irish Rock band in Phoenix, fiddling in the local Irish pubs.
Country rock performers heard her fiddling and brought her to their stages in 2013, including performances with Cash Presley, Laura Walsh, Ashley Wineland and DaisyTrain.
A unique collaboration of electric fiddle with acoustic guitar and vocals led to the well received energetic duo of Mike Mercier and Heide Hille. Her passion for playing classical, improv, rock violin, celtic and country music has her freelancing regularly and collaborating with local professional musicians on exciting new projects.
