Northern California Dance Conservatory
NCDC is recognized as one of the leading private dance training schools in the country. They are dedicated to training and nurturing dancers from the early stages of development to those aspiring for a professional career. NCDC serves the Sacramento region with esteemed teachers in a professional, nurturing atmosphere cultivating young artists to reach their full potential and develop a life-long love of dance. The alumni of the school are a testament to the program as they live their dreams as professional dancers, choreographers, educators and leaders around the world.
At NCDC they celebrate dance as an Art Form. They believe that every person should enjoy the benefits that dance can bring to life. Each dancer, from beginner to professional, has the opportunity to receive the highest level of education and instruction from their esteemed faculty whose experience and knowledge is passed on to every student. They believe in balancing discipline, focus, and structure with a positive, fun, nurturing atmosphere. This allows students the opportunity to gain a strong technical base, enjoy the health benefits that come from dance class while creating lasting relationships with their peers, a love of dance, and confidence in themselves. NCDC is a 9,500 square foot studio space divided into 5 large state of the art studios.
A good training space is critical to the success of any dancer. The studios are equipped with large open spaces, full-sized mirrors, premium sound systems and professional sprung raised floors; which is crucial for injury prevention. NCDC offers a homework area for students and a comfortable reception area for parents to wait for the younger dancers.
NCDC is the home of Roseville’s first black box theater that allows students the opportunities to perform in an intimate, professional setting. NCDC’s theater is available for rental.
Jen Bradford
(Founder/Executive Director)
Jen Bradford began dancing at a very early age in Utah and continued her training in the California Bay Area and New York City. While in NYC she received the Steps on Broadway scholarship and had the opportunity to study and perform repertoire with some of the most innovative choreographers in the city.
Jen attended Brigham Young University where she was awarded a dance scholarship and degree with personal studies in dance therapy. During 
her 20 -year career she has reached a level of notoriety as an innovative dancer, choreographer, producer and influential educator. As a choreographer, she has created over 60 full-length works that have been performed by Professional Companies, Theaters, Universities and schools throughout the United States France, Germany, Austria, Costa Rica, Mexico, Bulgaria, and China. She has received numerous awards for choreography and artistic achievement. She has been the Artistic Director of Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area, Momentum Dance Company, Impulse Dance Company, Impact Dance Company and in 2006 founded Northern California Dance Conservatory where she established an acclaimed training curriculum in which she teaches, choreographs and mentors young dancers.
She received the 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year award presented by Gallina LLP. Mrs. Bradford has cultivated collaborations with NCDC and esteemed choreographers and arts organizations. She has produced 4 Double Feature ballet’s performed at the Mondavi Center for the Performing arts and the Harris Center for the Arts. She is the Artistic Director of SYNTHESIS a bi-annual event bringing together dancers, visual artists and choreographers in the Sacramento area for an evening of performance and art. In 2009 she founded Project Launch Dance Festival, bringing renowned choreographers and companies together with emerging young dancers around the US for three weeks each summer.
Most recently Ms. Bradford created ACCESS – a free dance program for physically disabled children in her community. The most rewarding accomplishments of her career have come from the students she has trained over the years. She believes in not only giving her students the technical tools and experiences they need to achieve their goals as dancers but also the importance that their art can have in society and their communities.
Her students are currently teachers, choreographers, and dancers around the world. They are dancing with Batsheva, Royal Swedish Ballet, San Jose Ballet, Regensburg Ballet, Hagan Ballet, Cullberg Ballet, Eugene Ballet, The Rockettes, Festival Ballet and the National Broadway tour of 
Wicked to name a few.
The alumni have been received hundreds of scholarships and awards and have continued their studies at prestigious programs such as The Julliard School, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory, Houston Ballet, London Contemporary Dance, Staatliche Balletschule Berlin, University of Arizona, NYU, Butler University, SMU and ArnemHogeschool in the Nederlands.
Her passion for dance and dance education is deeply innate. She is grateful for the opportunity to share Northern California Dance Conservatory with the students, the professional staff and incredibly talented faculty, and the community through their performance and outreach programs.
Michael Levine
(Ballet Director)
Michael Levine has been involved with professional dance for over 24 years. He has had the privilege of dancing with companies such as the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and San Francisco Ballet. Michael Levine has also been a member of the tenured resident corps at San Franciso Opera and is a répétiteur for the Gerald Arpino Foundation. He joined NCDC as a teacher in 2014 and is honored to continue as the Director of the Ballet Division.
The majority of Michael Levine’s dancing career was with the Joffrey Ballet, where he had the opportunity to dance many leading and principal roles. He has danced as Romeo in Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, Death in Jooss’s The Green Table, Iago in Limone’s The Moore’s Pavane, The Lover in Tudor’s Lilac Garden, Albrecht in Freddy Franklin’s staging of Giselle, and The Prince in Ashton’s Cinderella. Levine has performed leading parts in numerous Arpino and Joffrey works, including Arthur St. Leon in Pas de Deesses and the leading pas in A Round of Angels, Sea Shadow, and Light Rain. Other leading roles include works by Kylian, Balanchine, and Pilobolus.
While at American Ballet Theater, Levine had the pleasure of appearing in James Kudelka’s Cruel World, Kevin McKenzie’s Transcendental Etudes and Lar Lubovich’s world premiere of Othello and A Brahms Symphony. Michael Levine has received recognition from the LA Times, Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Tribune, New York Times, and Washington Post for his technical ability and classical line as well as for his excellent character portrayal.
Levine has taught, coached, and lead workshops throughout the country including the Joffrey Ballet, Marin Ballet, Lou Conte Dance Center, Point Park University, and the University of Wisconsin. Michael Levine grew up in Grass Valley and began his training at Placer Ballet Theater in Auburn. He was a student performer with Sacramento Ballet before joining the San Francisco Ballet School as a year-round student.
Robin Bartholomew
(Tap Director)
Robin Bartholomew began her training in the bay area at age five, studying ballet, tap, jazz, and acrobatics. She began her professional career by
joining the San Francisco Ballet Company to study and perform. Robin spent six years performing with the San Jose Civic Light Opera and had the opportunity to perform with such stars as Michele Lee, Tyne Daly, Ken Berry, Ron Pallilo, Joanne Worley, and many more. Robin has trained with such artists as Brenda Bufalino, Sam Weber, Joe Tremaine, Maude Arnold, Carlos Jones, Tyler Warren, Anthony Lo Cascio, Charlie McGowan and many others. Robin has won numerous awards and scholarships throughout the state of California. She has also sat on a panel of judges for various competitions.
In 1985, Robin joined the elite cheerleading squad for the San Francisco 49ers, “The Gold Rush”. Robin spent many years as the Assistant Director for Placer Theatre Ballet and was the former Artistic Advisor on the PTB Board of Directors. She has been teaching for the past 30 years, loves working with children, and has a deep passion for the art of dance. Robin’s students have won many awards and have furthered their careers in the professional dance world. This season will mark her 12th year with NCDC.
Nhan Ho
(Hip Hop Director)
Nhan Ho, an established artist from Sacramento, California, is a choreographer, dancer, teacher, and director. He is most known for his fusion of dance styles and movements. Nhan has always been inspired and intrigued by the exploration of movements through kinesthetic teaching and demonstrating. His energy is described as dynamic. In addition, he enjoys collaborating with composers, musicians, visual artists, photographers, videographers, designers, and all forms of artists. He himself started out as a musician who was itching to dance from his seat.
Besides dancing for many professional companies from West Coast to East Coast, he founded Nhan Ho Project in 2010. As an Artistic Director of the company, he enables many artists to perform in a professional atmosphere and escalate them to be professional performing artists.
Lindsey Oester
(Access Director)
Lindsey is a native of Southern California where she studied classical ballet under Laurence Blake, Cynthia Young and Kristen Olsen Potts. She went on to attended The School of American Ballet in New York City. Lindsey received full scholarships to ballet schools across the country including The School of American Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, Houston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet and American Ballet Theater. She has performed with many companies including Walt Disney Entertainment, Ballet Unlimited, The Joffrey Ballet Company, The Chrystal Cathedral, Tokyo Disney Entertainment and Buena Vista Entertainment. Lindsey has had a well-rounded entertainment career including international print, commercial and runway modeling. Lindsey is now the director of ACCESS, their therapeutic dance program for children with special needs. She attended The University of California, Irvine where her passion and love for developmental psychology began. After graduating, she accepted a position with UC Irvine as a Psychometrist of neuro-psychological research and later became an approved researcher for UCLA, USC, UCSD and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
She enjoyed her research position but wanted to be more hands-on in the healing process of psychology.She became a behavioral therapist for The Center for Autism and Related Disorders where she provided one-to-one developmental therapy to children. As a therapist, Lindsey found that music and dance brought out the best progress in her clients. She combines her favorite aspects from a variety of therapies and her experience as a dancer to create The ACCESS Dance Program curriculum.
