Marty Husted
Marty is a fine artist living in Columbus, Ohio. As a child, his favorite things to do were to play in the woods, read, draw, dream and allow his imagination to take him to far-off places. He received his B.F.A. in illustration from Columbus College of Art and Design, and he continues to observe nature, read, draw and let his imagination soar.
As he paints, he funnels emotion onto canvas using texture, pattern and color. He doesn’t have a preconceived idea of how his painting will develop but expect that it will change and grow as all life does. When he goes beyond realism in his paintings and redefine relationships created by nature, he finds that he’s inspired to embrace fresh methods and combinations to create his images and they often end up as assemblages. By visually listening to the landscape and becoming immersed in its lyricism, he explores the depths of his vision and give the viewer an enticing interpretation of the world in which we live.
