Kathleen (Heiner) Stemler
Kathleen (Heiner) Stemler hass been a Western region girl at heart all her life. Born in Ogden, Utah in 1959 graduating from Ogden High School in 1978 and from Stevens Henager Business College in 1979 through an accelerated program. She moved to Reno, Nevada in 1985 and then moved to Carson City (the Capitol of Nevada) in 1992. She has over 30 years of professional office administration experience working primarily in education and then transitioned into manufacturing for six years. She worked at United Savings and Loan, Division of Continuing Education at Weber State College, for the Dean of Natural Sciences at Weber State College (all based in Ogden, Utah). Abaris, Abaris Training and Astromec, Inc., in Northern Nevada to name a few. She retired in 2002 and started a little business outsourcing her administrative skills to small business for a few years. She has been married to her best friend for over 20 years and their children are dogs and cats.
She has lost many over the years, but they are always a huge part of their life and they only adopt rescues. She enjoys creating art, hiking, biking, gardening, knitting to name a few things. She has been a volunteer for a number of years with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in Carson City.
In 2013, Kathleen took four Zentangle classes and she was hooked. Many friends and family were asking her if they could have copies of her various art as she was sharing them on Facebook. She mailed out many prints for about six months and was elated that people wanted them. After much thought, on March 9, 2014, she decided to create a website and venture into a little business she named “Kathleen’s Art Creations”. Her designs were all “Zentangle® Inspired Art” for the first few years.
She began broadening her horizons and started doing colorful abstract designs incorporating animals, scenery, flowers, etc. She fell in love with the free form of abstract work and the magic that happens. She continues to do both art forms.
Her number one goal with her business has always been “to bring smiles and make people happy”. She has expanded her product line from note cards and prints opening up a Zazzle Store. Her Zazzle products range from canvas art, mugs, totes, trivets, clothes, bath mats, and much more. February 2016, she collaborated with VIDA and began putting my designs on beautiful, soft and luxurious scarves and tees. She also donates much of her art to groups helping with animal vet care and much more.
Her art possibilities are endless and she continues to grow and learn with each piece she does.
